About

Our Mission Statement:

To identify with and minister alongside people and families living with disability.

Our Vision Statement:

Sensory Church will be a place where:

  • people and families living with disability are welcomed and valued as persons made in the likeness and image of God
  • the building, worship and liturgy are accessible to people of all abilities, especially those living with neurodiversity, physical, visual, sensory, or cognitive loss
  • people of all abilities are encouraged to become full participating members of the church by using their spiritual gifts

Our Values:

Sensory Church is built upon the following values:

  • Prayer: everything is built and supported by prayer. Spiritual growth and formation will be accessible to all through person-centred and sensory activities.
  • Fellowship & Belonging: everyone is affirmed and values as individuals, made in the image of God and therefore have inherent dignity and worth.
  • Made in the image of God: We affirm that individuals, children, and families living with a range of disabilities are made in the likeness and image of God and therefore belong in the body of Christ.

When we have inclusion for all, we celebrate with joy and continue to work for Justice, Peace, and Reconciliation.

Biblical Foundation:

Sensory Church we take our mandate from the call of Jesus to:

  • bring in the poor, those who don’t see very well, and those who don’t walk very well… the blind and the lame…so that my house will be full. Luke 14:21
  • Go, make disciples …baptizing them in the name of the Father and in the name of the Son and in the name of the Holy Spirit. Matt. 28:19
  • Sensory Church is part of the on-going mission of Jesus Christ: to build-up the Kingdom of God on earth.
