What to Expect

Our services are very sensory. We worship using: multi-sensory activities, sensory trays, crafts, music and magic tricks. We have a  bible story and  a time of prayer and blessing before ending our time together around the parachute and bubbles.

Do come as a family and join in the fun at Sensory Church.

What to Expect when you visit

    • Welcoming Song & Gathering (30 mins).Children with their parents or carers will select from two or three activity tables or stations. Here will be themed crafts or/and sensory bins to explore. The ‘Chill-out Zone’ is a calming area with a tent/ sensory den for those who want to relax and be calm.
    • Transition music from table-top  or floor activities to   Story Time (15 mins). A bible story is told very simply using sensory objects, adapted Godly-Play, or puppets, pictures, drama and sometime even ‘magic tricks – a big favourite with all ages!
    • Prayer-time (5 minutes ) including saying together ‘the Our Father (Lord’s Prayer).
    • Saying Goodbye: Blessing,  Parachute and Bubbles (5 mins). We gather around the parachute (some children may want to sit under it) We receive a blessing and finish with tossing the parachute high up into the air as the bubbles get freely blown.
Timing: 55 minutes  At Sensory Church we aim to meet the sensory needs of individual children. It’s important that that we provide enough time for children to settle-in as they are coming straight from school and that we give the children enough time to explore the activities. Children can have an orange drink and biscuit with parent / carers permission and  supervision.
